The New Year

Hi to all our folks who have visited us either as a guest or working. The venue is really looking great with so much rain. Those who helped us during the drought in 2006 -putting in those water lines when the river ran dry, will be pleased to know that we have had too much rain. But at least the pastures have lots of grass.
Unfortunately our best horse Hoppy- that mega big white horse died in December. We know how much everyone enjoyed this magestic horse.

Today its a bit quiet cause were geting ready for the School Holidays when we are really busy. The horses have been sent out for a spell and the great drop of rain we had last week means there is a lot of grass for them. We have around 100 horses to look after, some of our farm horses are old, so we have to hand feed them, but the other ones can go out to the river. We use the older horses for pony rides for children which means they get a little bit of excercise and they are nice and quiet for little children. We keep our horses here for a long time, in fact till they get very old. Some of our horses are around 30 years old with no teeth. Some of them are left out int he paddocks to live out their days. we keep a check onthem, worm them etc. They still are part of our "horse family".
